Seasonal Affective Disorder, Where Are You?

Seasonal Affective Disorder, Where Are You?

You sneaky bastard!

A park bench sitting under a tree with colored trees indicating it’s fall. There is fog hovering over a body of water in front of the bench and tree.

Summer has ended, and I know you are near. As the days grow shorter, the nights grow colder; you grow stronger with every drop in Fahrenheit.

It seems that when the leaves change colors, I turn into a zombie. I don’t want to be depressed and sleep and eat all the time. I guess I will exercise, use light therapy, attend psychotherapy, and medicate preemptively.

One day, I will overcome you, S.A.D.

October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month. It is important to take that next step and seek professional help and be screened if you or someone you care about feels they may be depressed.
